Silver runners in the sky
reindeer streaking across the stars
slipping across the fields and ploughing
through meteor blizzards.
Diamond hooves splitting star-beams
fur coats dancing with comet flakes
they ring their bells in chiming cacophony shimmers
with electro-galactic currents.
Where they pass space shimmers
and stirs, thinning and softening
so they may slide through
should they choose.
Where they miss time reaches
and beckons, slowing and pooling
hoping for a diamond
hoof print, just one.
And still they leap across
interstices of light,
sending back greetings
from the other side of night.
